Learning objectives
The course aims to favor:
- knowledge relating to the design and implementation of a dissertation
- practical skills useful in the design and implementation of a dissertation
- autonomy of judgment with respect to the issues addressed and autonomy in the preparation and conduct of a dissertation work, both theoretical and experimental.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of methodology of psychological research
Course unit content
During the laboratory different steps of the complex process of elaboration of the thesis work will be presented and discussed: definition of the topic, analysis of the different type of dissertations, design of the work plan, retrieval of bibliographic sources, review of the literature, approach to different research methods, criteria for drafting the various parts of the dissertation.
Full programme
The final examination, without vote, consists of an exercise that will be carried out during the laboratory and a subsequent shared reflection on the topics of the exercise. The laboratory is approved if the student is able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
Bibliography
The in-depth study of the topics addressed in the laboratory will take place through the analysis of some examples of dissertations projects and other material shared in class.
Teaching methods
Interactive lessons that require the active participation of students, guided practice exercises and group discussion to facilitate the acquisition of the ability to apply the knowledge to reality, the independence of judgment and autonomy in practice.
