Learning objectives

The course will allow the achievment of updated knowledge on the basicfeaures of the mirror system, with a particular focus on actionunderstanding in onkeys and humans. In addition the implications of themirror system for motor rehabilitation will be addressed in depth.

Remarks on the organization of the higher order motor functions. Themirror neuron system in non-human primates: main features and moredetailed studies. The mirror system for action understanding in humans.Coding of intention and mirror system. Plasticity of the motor and of themirror neuron system. Rehabilitation therapies based on actionobservation in adults and children with motor deficits.
