Psychologist function in a work context:

Advanced interdisciplinary knowledge of cognitive processes and their biological basis. Mastery of scientific terminology and understanding of methods of collecting, analysing and presenting empirical data. 
Ability to propose research or intervention projects in the field of cognitive and neuropsychological sciences, to manage them and to evaluate their outcome.
Analysis and evaluation skills based on empirical data and the ability to make independent judgements on issues related to cognitive processes and neuroscience. Ability to coordinate one's competences within multidisciplinary teams, to communicate effectively with individuals in situations of mental distress and their families, also taking into account the principles of professional ethics; to communicate the results of one's work both within the scientific community and externally. Ability to use the Italian language effectively in written and oral form and the English language adequately, also with reference to disciplinary terminology. Communication skills

Second-Cycle Degree Course graduates in Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience must: possess the communication skills to contribute with their competences to group work within multidisciplinary teams; be able to communicate effectively with individuals in situations of psychological distress and with their families, also taking into account the principles of professional ethics; be able to communicate the results of their research activities both within the scientific community using the vocabulary of the discipline, and externally through the channels of scientific dissemination.
Graduates must also be able to use the Italian language effectively, in written and oral form, and the English language adequately, also with reference to disciplinary terminology.
These learning outcomes will be achieved by stimulating students to produce papers or audio-visual presentations to submit to both the professor/instructor and the group of co-learners, and at the end of the degree course by requiring students to prepare a presentation similar to a scientific conference for the discussion of their thesis.
Communication skills and the ability to synthesise are assessed through oral and/or written tests with open questions in the profit examinations relating to the various course units and also through the presentation and discussion of the thesis.
