Learning objectives
The objective of the module is to allow the student to refine their tools of critical analysis and historiographical synthesis, in view of the preparation of the degree thesis and the conscious exercise of the profession. The reading of recent texts and manifestos, now considered as classics, will require a critical cleansing of the text from consolidated interpretative superfetations, therefore it will lead to the development of a greater critical sense in the understanding and production of architectural programs.

Course unit content
The module offers a historiographical survey able to provide the student with a critical insight into the main themes, movements and figures in the panorama of the history of architecture from the nineteenth century to today, with a specific focus on the contemporary world. The subject of individual study and analysis will be the architectural manifesto, which will be proposed as a literary text, as a tool of provocation and at the same time as a photograph of a specific historical moment and cultural climate.
