Admission procedure
To access to the Second Cycle Degree in “Architecture and City Sustainability” as a foreign student, several successive steps shall be followed.
Step 1 Pre-evaluation
First of all a pre-evaluation of the actual qualification must be processed by a scientific teaching Committee. All the documentation concerning previous education and hold degrees and qualifications must be collected and sent in digital format via the University of Parma web portal.
More in details, the applicant must provide the following compulsory attachments (a separate pdf file for each attachment, renamed as indicated below):
1) Original Bachelor Degree and the English/Italian translation [SURNAME_01_Bachelor];
2) Original Transcript of Records and the English/Italian translation (including a complete list of passed exams, their load in terms of lecture hours or credit units, with relevant definition, the achieved grades and the official syllabus or program of each course attended) [SURNAME_02_ Transcript];
3) English language proficiency certification, English proficiency letter or Medium of Instruction [SURNAME_03_ English];
4) Curriculum vitae [SURNAME_04_CV];
5) Passport (page with photo and identification data) [SURNAME_05_ Passport];
6) Other documents considered useful to establish the qualification of the applicant (portfolio, motivational letter, etc.).
The selection is based only on the submitted documents, without any oral interview.
Incomplete applications will be automatically excluded from the selection.
The pre-evaluation phase for the academic year 2024-2025 (starting in September 2024) is closed.
The pre-evaluation phase for the 2025-2026 academic year will start in March 2025.
Once the quota of students admitted to the degree program is reached, no further admissions will be accepted.
In such cases, for any request regarding the refund of the enrollment fee, it is necessary to contact the ER.GO (www.ergo.it).
Step 2 Enrolment
If the foreign degree meets the minimum requirements (in some cases some integrative courses could be assigned), the formal enrolment procedure can start. All the documents and certificates must be at this stage issued by the competent authority of the awarding institution and translated into Italian. Documents must then be certified and legalized by the competent Italian Embassy/Consulate of the country where the awarding institution is located; the Italian Embassy/Consulate will then issue the Declaration of Value.
NON-EU students generally have to submit to the Italian Embassy/Consulate also a pre-application form to enroll in an Italian University, in order to obtain the entry Visa for study purposes.
All the course classes begin at the end of September and it is necessary to complete the enrolment before the start date of the program.
More detailed instructions for the admission to the Second Cycle Degree Courses can be found on the International students webpage. See also www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri.
