The course of Urban and Regional Planning for Adapting to Climate Change aims to provide students with knowledge on the analysis and evaluation of the effects of climate change on cities and regions. Through the acquisition of this knowledge, students will be able to acquire skills related to the planning tools of the contemporary Western city, with attention to the processes of adaptation to climate change.
Making judgements
With this aim, students must be able to recognize, analyse and evaluate the effects of climate change on cities and regions as well as to select the most appropriate planning tools for climate adaptation in urban and regional regeneration processes.
Comunication skills
At the end of the course students must be able to communicate the results of the analysis, evaluation and planning of the main actions to combat climate change in urban and regional contexts through the drafting of a technical or scientific report and its public discussion.
Learning skills
Students must be able to relate the lessons learned, finalizing them to the development of urban planning tools with an innovative and experimental character, paying particular attention to the skills required by the cultural challenge of sustainability and climate change.
