Learning objectives
a. Knowledge and understanding: The course is in three parts.
Part 1 - international trade contracts and the customs system in import and export.
Part 2 - students work in groups on import / export projects under the supervision of the course leader and where possible external specialists.
Part 3 - group work is presented, discussed and assessed in class,
b. Applying knowledge and understanding:
Students acquire basic knowledge of international contracts and the customs system relating to import/export.
c. Independent judgement:
Students acquire the ability to make independent judgements relating to private law solutions for import/export issues.
d. Communication skills:
Students acquire the skills to work in import/export, inside firms, with external practitioners, with other firms and with relevant authorities.
e. Learning skills:
The workshop or seminars allow students to learn the methods and operational practice of regulations on contracts and import/export and how these are applied.

Priority in enrolment will be given to students having high average scores of examinations registered, then to students up to date with their degree course exams and then younger students.

Course Assessment
Attendance is compulsory. Students who are absent more than twice are not permitted to take the final test as an examination as part of their degree course. Final assessment is made during the last few timetabled lesson slots on group presentation of projects. Projects are assessed globally and for the following aspects: knowledge, capacity to apply knowledge, the capacity to use appropriate terminology, independence of judgement and capacity to learn. The result of the test (Pass or Fail) is made available immediately.
