Learning objectives

The course is aimed to explain the etio-pathogenetic mechanisms and morphologic changes of disease,introducing scientific information in the basic language of pathology. •The student will acquire basic knowledge of regressive and inflammatory conditions in livestock.

Causes, pathogenesis, mechanisms and morphologic changes in livestock diseases

Full programme

Concept of disease. Physical, chemical, and biological causes of disease. Cellular injury and cell death. Adaptation, intracellular accumulations (atrophy, hyperthrophy, hyperplasia, dairy cow steatosis, etc). Hemodynamic disorders (hyperemia, hemorrhage, thrombosis, embolism, ischemia, edema). Anemia. Acute and chronic inflammation (characteristics of the exudative inflammation and granulomas), tissue repair. Environmental and nutritional pathology of livestock.
