Learning objectives
To acquire basic information about theories in developmental psychology, and to get a deeper knowledge of cognitive and socio-emotional factors influencing the development. Finally, it is important to obtain the ability to think critically about the role of nature and nurture on the development.

Course unit content
First part of the course will regard general themes , as theoretical models in developmental psychology. The second part regards the developmental phases, and the third part focuses on the cognitive and emotional development, considering the influence of both nature and nurture on them.

Teaching methods
The lessons will serve to describe and discuss the basic themes regarding the area of developmental psychology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Final exam will be an oral discussion; it will help to explore the global and specific knowledge of the themes, the ability to think critically about the issues and to integrate theory and clinical knowledge. To integrate the exam, the students are required to organize a power point presentation on a developmental topic defined during the class meetings. a An exam will be considered not sufficient when the student do not reach the minimal understanding of the content of the course.
