Learning objectives
At the end of the lab, students should be able to:
1) Use appropriately the principal indices of central tendency and variability
2) Know and correctly use of statistical significance and its meanings
3) Understand and critically analyse the use of data in research practice
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of statistics and psychometrics
Course unit content
The lab aims to analyse some aspect of statistics as a tool of psychological profession and practice, as well as everyday life. The aim is to encourage an informed use, and the ability to clearly understand meanings and limits, of statistics

Teaching methods
Interactive lessons (remote synchronous on Teams) that require the active participation of students, guided practice analysis and group discussion to facilitate a) the acquisition of the ability to apply the knowledge to reality, b) the independence of judgment and c) autonomy in practice.
Assessment methods and criteria
The examination, without vote, requires that student analyses a small database. The lab is approved if the student is able to apply the knowledge acquired in practice
