Course units and programme of study

The plan of studies is the set of compulsory and elective courses that students must take in order to graduate. Submission of the plan of studies, related to one's year of enrollment, is compulsory and is necessary for registering for exams and completing the teaching evaluation questionnaires. All current students must submit their study plan online via Esse3 platform.

How does the plan of study work?

The list of teachings in the study plan represents the set of educational activities that can be provided for each of the years of which the course of study consists and changes according to the year of the student's matriculation. The 'free-choice or restricted-choice' courses are optional educational activities that the student can include in the study plan according to the choice criteria specified on this page; the remaining courses are compulsory for all students.

The study plan must be submitted online by the student for each year of the course using the ESSE3 system (see dedicated section).

The student is allowed to submit his or her own study plan with choice options different from those presented on this page (and available in ESSE3), as long as it is consistent with the achievement of the course's educational objectives. In this case, the plan must be submitted to the Course Council for approval.
