Integrated course unit module: 3 YEAR TRAINEESHIP

Learning objectives

- Orient yourself in the reality of the specific internship context by identifying the characteristics and purposes of the structure / service and identify the functions of the figures who work there
- Develop responsible behaviors and attitudes with respect to the learning context and the training process
- Acquire / reinforce listening and openness attitudes to establish an effective and professional relationship with patients, family and figures present in the operating unit / service
- Design, deliver and evaluate personal assistance through the observation and execution of basic and advanced techniques, respecting the programming of the pre-clinical laboratories and the protocols in use at the facility: prevention of biological, physical and chemical risk ; welcome of the person; nursing assessment; application of diagnostic and therapeutic prescriptions; path of the child undergoing surgery; performing biological sampling in the child; execution of capillary and venous sampling in the child; application of the oximeter; CVC management in children; nutrition management in children / adolescents with eating disorders; continuous control and maintenance of vital functions through multifunctional monitoring systems, through circuits for artificial and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, through tracheal suction systems and through the arterial circuit and hemodynamic monitoring; management of the person intubated by the gold / nasolabial route; management of the person with tracheostomy; assistance to the person in case of bronchoscopy; recognition of emergency / urgency conditions; application of BLSD maneuvers; procedures for assigning the assistance priority code; recognition of the main clinical-care pathways; management of aggression in the patient with mental disorders; organization of therapeutic groups; help in maintaining / restoring autonomy with respect to vital functions and daily life activities; monitoring the patient during the meal intake in order to verify problems related to the food intake; management and monitoring of environmental safety such as the closure of doors and areas with the presence of drugs and / or potentially dangerous substances; identification of mental distress, interaction with the psychiatric patient based on the symptoms present; patient entertainment with playful activities or relationship interviews according to the specific need; knowledge of the various principals of
immobilization and their function (valves, plaster casts, resin appliances; bandages and braces); collaboration in the creation of ankle bandages; collaboration in the positioning of metal splints for fingers and simple bandages for shoulder; health education for the patient with immobilization devices; preparation of the material and collaboration in the creation of a plaster cast valve, of a closed plaster and of the other immobilization devices; collaboration in the positioning of a trans-skeletal traction; collaboration in the treatment of wounds of orthopedic-traumatological competence; reception of the patient who needs first aid in the orthopedic-traumatological field; collaboration in drafting the person's PAI; basic care for the critically ill patient; postural control of the critically ill patient; airway management of oxygen therapy; management of PEG, SNG and enteral nutrition; management of the venous pathways; comprehensive and systematic assessment of the person with incurable disease and his family to recognize the need for palliative care; recognition and interpretation, as a team, of the needs of the assisted person and his family, in their complexity and evolution.

Cognitive, affective, relational, organizational and value knowledge that allow you to translate knowledge into professional practice but also to enrich and consolidate the world of ideas with new content and reflect on emotional and value aspects.
