Learning objectives
At the end of the course, students will be able to describe and explain how epidemiological methods are used to identify public health problems, to plan and evaluate public health interventions; they will be able to apply epidemiological skills in reading and interpreting scientific articles, and they will acquire an autonomy of judgment and learning related to the topics covered and specific communication skills.

Course unit content
The course deals with aspects related to the epidemiological methodology, and in particular, aims and application of epidemiology, and the role of epidemiology in planning and evaluating public health interventions.

Teaching methods
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented.
Didactic material will be available on the specific student-reserved platform (Elly).
Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam in which the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired during the course will be evaluated. The test consists of 31 multiple choice questions.
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely (by Teams and Elly).
