Learning objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: At the end of the course the student will have to know the fundamental principles of the strategic business management. In particular, through the lectures held during the course, the student will acquire knowledge of the tools and techniques of strategic analysis, planning and control.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Through practical exercises, students learn how to apply the knowledge acquired in a real business context. In particular, the student will have to apply the acquired knowledge and draw up a strategic business analysis.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS: The student will have to be able to critically evaluate the strategic performance of a company.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Through the lectures and the comparison with the professor, the student acquires the specific vocabulary of the strategic business management. It is expected that, at the end of the course, the student is able to transmit, in oral and written form, the main contents of the course, and to present in a clear manner the results of analysis and strategic management evaluations.
LEARNING SKILLS: The student who has attended the course will be able to deepen his knowledge in the field of strategic business management through the independent consultation of specialized texts, scientific or popular journals, even outside the topics investigated during the course, in order to effectively deal with the inclusion in the world of work or undertake further training courses.

Course unit content
The course has the main objective of making the student acquire:
- the fundamental knowledge regarding business management, intended strategically as an effective and efficient development of the organization in relation to the evolution of the external environment, in the perspective of openness to innovation and a culture of sustainability;
- the in-depth study of systems of analysis, development, governance and performance evaluation that emerge from the process of strategic change;
- learning and applying the main theoretical contributions offered by Organizational Behavior;
- the ability to plan and govern an effective path of strategic change, thanks to the application of a summary model for the management of the implementation cycle.

For attending and non attending students: the notes of the professor, as well as exercises, their solutions and all the supporting material used during the lessons will be available for students on the home page of the course on the web platform Teams.
In addition to the materials provided through the Teams platform, mandatory for all students, the reference book, mandatory for non-attending students, recommended for in-depth information for attending students is "Barani A., 2021, Il cambiamento strategico nelle organizzazioni, FrancoAngeli, Milano".
For non-attending students, further bibliographic materials may be reported and / or uploaded for the purpose of further study.
Teaching methods
The course includes both theoretical lessons and exercises. Frontal moments and interactive moments with the students will be alternated.
Assessment methods and criteria
NON ATTENDING STUDENTS
The test will be written with three open questions relating to the theoretical part and two exercises on the application part.
NON ATTENDING STUDENTS
The test consists in the written drafting and subsequent oral presentation and critical discussion of a project work, through which all the topics covered in class are applied to a business case.
