Course unit content

The green economy is defined as an economy that aims at reducing
environmental and ecological risks, and that aims to sustainable
development and to the circular economy. This is linked to the use and
rationalization of genetic resources as a tool to optimize the production, but also to the protection of biodiversity and of cultivable areas.
The course aims to illustrate the basic principles of the green economy
and the use of genetic resources. Basic principles of biology and genetics are also introduced, related to the support and the sustainable use of the genetic resources in agro-food production.
