Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the tools and concepts
useful theorists for understanding the fundamental characteristics inherent
health law and trade union law. In particular, the course has the aim
to deepen the issues related to the employment relationship with a Public Health Authority, also in relation to the responsibilities that fall on the
healthcare personnel, as well as union relations in the public sphere.
At the end of the course the student will be able to: know the elements
foundations of Healthcare and Trade Union Law.

Course unit content
The course is divided into two parts:
1. health law;
2) trade union law.
Full programme
The subjects of health law are the following:
a) national and regional health legislation;
b) organization and functioning of the National Health Service;
c) public employment relationship with a Healthcare Company;
d) the responsibilities (criminal, civil, accounting, disciplinary) of the employee of a Healthcare Company
As regards trade union law, the topics addressed are:
a) the union: birth and evolution;
b) trade union freedom;
c) union organizational structures;
d) representation and representativeness;
e) RSA and RSU; f) the sectors of collective bargaining;
g) the levels of collective bargaining;
h) ARAN;
i) national collective bargaining;
l) supplementary collective bargaining;
m) trade union relations models in the NHS: area comparto;
n) effectiveness and enforceability of collective agreements;
o) checks on collective bargaining;
p) union usability.

Teaching methods
Credits 6, 48 hours of classroom lessons. The total study load for this teaching module is between 150 - 18 hours of study, that is, between 25 and 30 hours per credit, including classroom hours.
The lessons are frontal.
The slides and lecture notes used to support the lessons will be uploaded before the start of the course on the Elly platform.

Slides and lecture notes are considered an integral part of the teaching material.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral test, assessed on a 0-30 scale, concerning the topics dealt with in the classroom. The mark of the oral exam is communicated immediately at the end of the exam itself.
