Integrated course unit module: SPORT MEDICINE AND DOPING

Learning objectives

Students will learn fundamental concepts of the discipline. He has to know main aspects of nutrition in pediatric age, management of sick children during physical exercise. and
recognition of diseases triggered by physical exercise.

Course unit content

Alterations of growth, congenital cardiopathy, exantematous diseases, upper airway recurrent infections, otitis; sinusitis; cystic fibrosis, neoplasms, juvenile arthritis , type 1 diabetes and physical activity.
Health problems associated with physical activity. Nutrition and physical activity, lifestyle and prevention: obesity.
Allergy and sport: anaphylaxis, asthma, urticaria, rhinitis.

Congenital, infective and syndromic cardiopathy
Normal growth and effect of intensive training

Obesity
Heatstroke: causes and prevention.
Doping prevention.
