Learning objectives

­ Develop comprehension skills, critical thinking, alternative thinking and passive and active listening
­Acquire the terminology and basic concepts of research
­Apply their knowledge in the professional context
­Read and understand articles and medical and scientific relations

Prerequisites

The language proficiency requirement is level B2 as described in the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Course unit content

The sectoral language courses (ESP Inglese for Specific Purpose) must be based on the real needs of learners, highlighted with a qualitative analysis of needs. The biomedical English is taught taking into account the needs of medicine and the health professions, carefully lexical acquisition in the first place and then the grammatical and structural content.

­ Ability to communicate in the field of medical and / or professional relationship with certain groups of people
­Ability to read and analyze a scientific article
­Ability to use scientific banks dates as learning tools and specific cultural growth
­Ability to understand and actively participate in international conferences and courses.

Full programme

­Reinforcement of prior knowledge or background
­Wide range of medical and scientific vocabulary concerning equipment, pathology, semiotics, investigation, treatment and examination
­general medical vocabulary related to parts and functions of the body, the medical and paramedical figures, training and internship, research and its exposure.
­Understanding of clinical cases, relationships and health material related to the profession TSRM
­Knowledge of a broad body of specific terminology that can be practiced using online activities and resources, using as a basis the scientific article.
­Understanding of the clinical descriptions and items taken from the best indexed journals, medical vocabulary and comprehension exercises.
­Development of critical reading and analytical skills
