IThe Medical Radiology, Imaging and Radiotherapy Technologies graduate:
- communicates ideas, information, problems and solutions effectively to the public and to specialist interlocutors, giving reasons for their actions;
- demonstrates the ability to listen to and understand users, colleagues, doctors and other professionals;
- communicates with users in full respect of cultural or ethnic differences;
- adapts language, using English when necessary, and verifies understanding of the information provided;
- uses various information and computer technologies specific to their field of work.
Teaching tools, methodologies and training activities to develop the expected results:
- Videos and critical analysis of films, simulations, narratives and testimonies;
- Discussion of cases and paradigmatic relational situations in subgroups with presentations in plenary sessions;
- Group and individual exercises in the computer room on specific applications;
- Placement with tutor-supervised experiences in different contexts with debriefing sessions to reflect on and develop relational experiences with the user and the team.
Assessment tools to ascertain the achievement of the expected results:
- Observation of film frames, or referral to written documents and dialogues using structured grids;
- Evaluation feedback during the placement (through portfolios, structured evaluation forms and clinical reports)

Abilità comunicative

The TSRM takes care of the execution of examinations predetermined by the radiologist and performs the following roles:
- maintaining, activating and using instrumentation;
- recording examination data and drafting diagnostic reports;
- handling relations with the patient;
- handling operations relating to examination safety;
- carrying out radiological investigations and radiotherapy treatments, safeguarding the radiological protection of the patient and the operators;
- collaborating in the correct management and updating of radiological records, to the extent of his/her competence;
- handling the management and transmission of radiological images with reference to information security and privacy, throughout the entire diagnostic process.
COMPETENCES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ROLE:
Specific knowledge, skills and abilities within a specialised healthcare context are required to perform the functions described above.
In addition to self-learning and continuous training skills, appropriate soft skills are required, such as:
- communicative and relational skills, demonstrating the ability to relate with the user, with different interlocutors (colleagues, other professions, users and patients): knowing how to use information and communication procedures
- organisational and managerial: knowing how to deal with emergency situations in collaboration with other professionals (nurse, doctor, anaesthetist, etc.), knowing how to work in a team
- planning, in accordance with the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned, demonstrating the ability to acquire the skills necessary to carry out present and future professional activities.
EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS:
TSRMs can carry out their professional activities within:
- public facilities
- private facilities
- research institutes in diagnostic imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and health physics
- industries producing electromedical equipment dedicated to radiodiagnostics, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine.
