Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows the technical characteristics
of the exercises and the practice of strength and endurance in different
age groups, and the principles and technical characteristics of
gymnastics
Applying knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows and uses the main training
methods for the different motor skills and to improve performance.
Making judgements
At the end of the course the student is able to choose and use the main
training methods, differentiating the load based on individual
performance for both the type of sport that according to age and gender
Communication skills
the student must use technically sound terminology
Learning skills
the student must be able to summarize a brief technical text

Course unit content

Methods and techniques for the training of conditional and coordinative
skills in the different age groups.
- Factors conditioning performance and their adaptations and correlations
with ability and power, according to different age groups
- The evolution during the life of the different abilities, strength, speed
and their differences between the sexes.
- The physical ability patterns and stages of their learning.
- Principles of gymnastics

Teaching methods

Oral and practical lessons; stages at school following physical activity teachers

Assessment methods and criteria

Written Test (multiple choice) on the main topics of the course.
The preparation of the student will be considered acceptable with 18/30
correct answers. The test will be followed by evaluation of the performed stages.
