Integrated course unit module: BOTANY

Learning objectives

Introduction to the plant world through the study of morphology, anatomy, histology of vascular plants, with a peculiar attention to the adaptative features. At the end of the course the students will be able to understand the fundamental connections between morphology and physiology under the perspective of the evolution of vascular plants.

Teaching methods

Lessons in the classroom during which the main topics of the course will be exposed and discussed with an active interaction with the students.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination aiming at verifying how the students will become able to understand the relations between the structure of vascular plants and their physiology. In this module the examination will be passed when the students reply positively and adequately to two questions on the three proposed. Considering that this is an integrated examination the final result will be obtained by calculating the average within the two modules corrected by the result obtaining during the oral discussion on the herbarium of vascular plants collected and identified by the student.
