A good education in the basic disciplines enables the Nature and Environmental Science graduate to approach nature and environmental issues with a scientific method.
At the end of the training course, the student will have acquired: 
 - an adequate basic naturalistic preparation in the areas of Earth and Life Sciences;
- knowledge of the fundamentals of environmental management;
- knowledge of the English language (level B1) in written and oral form, with reference also to the subject lexicons and sufficient familiarity in the use of basic IT tools.
 
The acquisition of these skills will enable them to:
- deal with the analysis of naturalistic and environmental problems, including complex ones;
- carry out sampling and measurements, in support of professional studios and public and private research centres;
- collaborate with other professionals in the public administration (ARPA, Provinces, Local Health Authorities, Regions, Parks, etc.) in activities in the naturalistic-environmental field.
 
The fields of employment of graduates in Nature and Environmental Sciences are in different areas such as:
- Bodies responsible for planning and managing natural resources and for the management, conservation and dissemination of natural and cultural heritage (Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of the Environment, regional, provincial and municipal departments, Mountain Communities, Protected Areas, Museums, Botanical Gardens and Herbaria).
- Public and private social-health facilities and multidisciplinary professional firms engaged in the fields of organisation and coordination of environmental monitoring, remediation of contaminated sites, formulation of protocols for environmental and quality certification, control of the disposal and treatment of solid urban waste (MSW), urban and industrial liquid effluents and special and toxic waste, and the preparation of multimedia systems for environmental communication and information.
