Integrated course unit module: PSYCHOLOGY APPLIED TO GROUP AND SOCIAL DYNAMICS

Learning objectives

The main objectives of the course relate to the acquisition of appropriate social skills within the different work situations with particular reference to the acquisition of management skills of the working groups. The course also addresses how to recognize, manage and help prevent particular situations of occupational stress

The module specification is divided into 4 areas:
1. By the working group to work as a team in the organizational context: roles and processes
a) Psychosocial research b) Leaders and Leadership
c) Decision Making
d) Motivational Processes
e) Self-efficacy and collective efficacy
f) Context

2. The group in social psychology a) The contribution of Kurt Lewin
b) Social identities and affiliations
c) The persuasion and social influence

3. Welfare organization a) Organizational Climate and relationships
b) Law 81-2008 risks and work-related stress
c) Burn-out / work engagement
4. Development of interpersonal skills in a professional environment
a) Role-playing training
b) Knowing how to manage situations of greater relational difficulty, especially in terms of emotional control and conflict management
c) Develop the capacity of empathic listening

Full programme

At the end of the course the student will be able to improve the management skills of the working groups and relational skills, identify and manage the emergence of situations of occupational stress.

Teaching methods

Lectures using slides and discussion in the classroom with students, alternating exercises with the use of the technique of role-playing, analysis of possible situations of mental illness in the workplace and relational with search strategies for improvement.
