PART TIME enrolment

Since the 2015-2016 academic year, the figure of the part-time student has been introduced at the University of Parma.
More details can be found in the university regulations for the enrolment of part-time students.
The programme of study for part-time students can be found in the annex to the Course Regulations.

Access requirements

Admission to the degree course requires an upper secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable. The specific scientific knowledge, including mathematical knowledge, provided by almost all secondary education courses, is considered sufficient for enrolment in the degree course and will be verified at the beginning of the academic year (as stipulated in Art. 6 of M.D. 270/04) with a compulsory but non-selective test, success in which is not conditional on admission to the degree course. However, failure to reach the threshold set by the Degree Course provides, as specified in the Course Regulations, for the allocation of specific additional training obligations (OFAs) that must be met within the first year of the course.

Admission procedures

For the academic year 2022-23, access to the degree course in Nature and Environmental Sciences is free. However, students registering for the degree course are required to take a test to assess their initial knowledge of Mathematics, which usually takes place before the start of classes. The test is compulsory but not selective, i.e. admission to the degree course is not conditional on passing the test.
Failure to meet the threshold set by the Degree Course entails the allocation of specific additional training obligations (OFAs) that must be met by the student within the first year of the course.
The calendar of dates on which the tests can be held, information on how to participate and the topics covered by the questions and marks will be available on the Degree Course webpage between late August and early September.
You do not need to be already enrolled in the Degree Course to take the test.
The following are exempt from taking the test:

- students enrolling on the Degree Course having already obtained a technical-scientific degree;
- students transferring from another degree course of our or another university having already passed a mathematics examination;
- students who have successfully taken an early test to verify their scientific knowledge in the two years prior to enrolment (e.g. tests that include a maths test such as the TOLC test, even if taken at another university, or the CORDA test), provided that they present documentation proving that they have passed the test.
