Integrated course unit module: BIOLOGY: FROM CELLS TO ORGANISMS

Learning objectives

Students will achieve basic knowledge about citology, histology and
anatomy of plants (Spermatophytes). The most important physiological
processes, as photosynthesis, water and mineral transport, phoelm
transport and hormone action, will be elucidated, in order to understand
the functioning of plants. Plant biotechnologies will also discussed, giving
some application examples.

Teaching methods

Lessons will be integrated by short scientific animations to better
understand the most important physiological processes. Similarly some
lab experiences will be shown and discussed. Lessons will be in presence,
but, depending on the academic suggestions, they will be changed.

Assessment methods and criteria

At the end of the Plant Biology part the overall student knowledge will be
evaluated by oral check. Precise questions will be performed to evaluate
what students know about citology, histology and anatomy of plants. This
will count towards the 70% of the final mark. The remaining 30% will be
Modalità di verifica
dell'apprendimento
