Learning objectives

a. Knowledge and understanding: the student will consolidate knowledge of the fundamentals of data analysis and determination, as well as corporate reporting.
b. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will be able to analyze business case studies of data analysis and budgeting of economic and financial flows using MS Power BI, MS Excel, and additional software management.
c. Making judgments: the student will be able to evaluate the reports prepared for the company stakeholders.
d. Communication skills: at the end of the course the student will have acquired the ability to analyze the issues related to data analysis and reporting and the ability to express themselves with an appropriate language to discuss the topics covered in the Laboratory.
e. Learning skills: at the end of the training course, the student will be able to recognize the potential of BI and ERP systems and evaluate the different action plans on which these can be expressed, including reporting issues.

Course unit content

The contents of the Laboratory of Advanced Information Systems for Management, SIAM, are focused on the characteristics and applications of Business Intelligence management software and on the introductory study of Enterprise Resources Planning. In particular, MS Power BI and corporate reporting processes will be analyzed and tested. Topics relating to the comparative analysis between the different BI management systems are also dealt with.

Teaching methods

Knowledge and understanding (a) and the Ability to apply knowledge and understanding (b) will be achieved through lectures and study of materials before lessons. Autonomy of judgment (c), communication skills (d) and ability to learn (d), through active participation in the classroom testimonies and in the individual final oral interview.

Assessment methods and criteria

The achievement of the above educational objectives will be verified through the final interview and participation during the lessons.
