Learning objectives

Knowledge of main pediatric disorders of interest for
hearing aid
technicians (upper airways diseases, systemic
diseases, etc.) focusing on
useful features for hearing aid technicians.

Course unit content

The main objective of the course is to inform
students about the common conditions of infants,
children and adolescents, especially regarding
airway diseases, neurolopsichiatric diseases, ; to know and understand the importance of growth, the
stages of development and the impact that various
diseases can have on growth and development;
provide the necessary knowledge on linguistic
development and audiology

Teaching methods

The course will be held through lectures to Students
either in the
classroom (“in presenza”) or if necessary, in
synchronous-streaming (“in
telepresenza”) on the Teams platform. Therefore,
the opportunity of
Student/Teacher interaction will be preserved both
face to face and
remotely, by the simultaneous use of the Teams
platform.
Lectures will be supported by slide presentations,
which may be available
to students on the Elly platform
(https://elly2020.medicina.unipr.it/).

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination and immediate communication of
score 0-30.If necessary , the exams will be
conducted remotely through the Teams platform
