Learning objectives
Students will acquire skills necessary to provide a global nursing care to
patients with health problems in medical areas, considering prevention,
treatment and rehabilitation.
Students will demonstrate knowledge of proper healthcare behaviors
during diagnostic and therapeutic iter, mainly focusing on clinical
monitoring of different diseases in acute phase and on identify potential
complications.
Students will be able to identify any alterations of vital signs, clinical
signs and blood parameters related to specific diseases.
Students will possess knowledge required to provide a patient- and
family-addressed healthcare and to plan the rehabilitation activities at
the time of hospital discharge
Prerequisites
Before starting this nursing course, it is strongly recommended to have
acquired basic knowledge on Anatomy and Physiology.

Cardiovascular guidelines: ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, vascular ulcers.
Respiratory guidelines: COPD, infectious pneumonia, pleural effusion, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure.
Gastrointestinal guidelines: gastritis and gastric ulcer, liver cirrhosis, acute pancreatitis.
Kidney-Urinary guidelines: Chronic and acute renal failure, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis.
Central Nervous System guidelines: Cerebrovascular diseases, Parkinson disease, Multiple sclerosis.
Endocrinology and Metabolism guidelines: Diabetes, Thyroid diseases.
Oncology and Hematology guidelines: integrated care pathway of cancer patients; Global healthcare to patients affected by solid and hematologic malignancies; To know, plan, evaluate and apply the fundamental clinical interventions related to different issues of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
