Integrated course unit module: CLINICAL EMERGENCIES

Learning objectives

The targets of the course are to provide the necessary elements for the nursing management of urgencies and emergencies in the ER.
In particular the students, at the end of the course, will obtain the useful tools for:
- Knowing how to provide nursing assistance to patients with urgent / emerging traumatic and non-traumatic pathologies;
- Know and apply the triage protocols.
In particular the students, at the end of the course, will obtain the useful tools for:
- Knowing how to provide nursing care for the patients with traumatic and not-traumatic pathologies in emergency/urgency;
- Know and apply the triage protocols.

Prerequisites

Course unit content

- Nursing care for the patient with chest pain, palpitation and syncope;
- Nursing care for the patient with dyspnea;
- Nursing care for the patient with abdominal pain;
- Nursing care for the patient with severe neurological disorders;
- Nursing care for the patient with headache;
- Nursing care for the patient with an ongoing allergic reaction;
- Nursing care for the patient with ongoing digestive bleeding;
- Nursing care for the patient with burns;
- Nursing care for the patient with shock;
- Nursing care for the polytrauma patient;
- Nursing care for the patient in cardio-circulatory arrest and with airway obstruction;
- Triage: types and phases that compose it.
