Learning objectives

At the end of the course the student will have acquired knowledge about the relationship between nursing practice and the quality of care received by patients in the care pathways.
Furthermore, the student will have learned the ability to govern the outcomes of nursing care in his/her own clinical practice.

Course unit content

All healthcare systems today face major challenges, globally and locally, related to rising costs and the ability to cope with the care needs of an ageing population. The only viable solution is to improve the quality of care. To do this, all healthcare systems must have access to reliable and measurable data on the care individuals receive. This is why outcome measurement has become the essential node in the process of improving the quality of care.

Teaching methods

Teaching activities will be conducted with a focus on active learning modes using face-to-face lectures.
The slides used to support the lectures will be uploaded onto the Elly platform and are considered an integral part of the teaching material.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final learning assessment will consist of a written test, structured as a multiple-choice quiz, comprising 31 questions.
The final examination will comprise questions from the 3 subjects that make up the integrated course of Legal Principles and Health Organisation. There will be 10 questions relating to this teaching
