Learning objectives
The course aims to achieve the following educational objectives:
I) Knowledge and understanding: Acquiring knowledge of decision-making and management processes specific to companies, with particular reference to public companies, social enterprises, and cooperatives. Understanding the specific performance measurement systems, identifying typical change processes and their associated difficulties. Understanding the elements that characterize the concept of a company, knowledge of company reporting systems (financial statements and social balance sheet), and understanding the fundamentals of corporate social responsibility.
II) Application of knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course, the student will be able to analyze the dynamics and typical processes of companies, measure their performance, and carry out planning and programming activities.
III) Independent judgment: Analyzing the key characteristics of decision-making processes within companies and outlining the main features of a corporate organization.
IV) Communication skills: The student will be able to express themselves accurately and communicate appropriately using business and economic language.
V) Learning ability: The student will have the capacity to further deepen their understanding of the methods of analysis and design of companies.

The course aims to deepen the specific characteristics of how Companies function, with particular reference to Public Companies.
The company and business economics. The concept of economic efficiency.
Corporate governance: economic entity and legal entity.
Company resources and the production process.
Stakeholders and corporate social responsibility.
Company reporting: financial statements and social balance sheet.
Elements of cost accounting.
Public Administrations.
Public management.
Elements of corporate organization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Attending students:
50% of the grade will be assigned through the presentation of a project work, which can be done individually or in groups (depending on the number of attending students).
The remaining 50% will be assigned through a written exam with questions and possible exercises/case studies.
During the course, non-mandatory exercises will be assigned, and if completed correctly, they will entitle the student to a maximum of +3 points towards the final grade.
Non-Attending students:
Written examination with questions based on assigned texts (open-ended questions and/or exercises).
