Learning objectives

The course aims to provide knowledge on the architecture, organization, configuration, and administration of computing systems, focusing on the most commonly used tools for their implementation and management, with an emphasis on cloud perspectives and key approaches to managing cloud services.
Throughout the course, the main systems for virtualization, packaging, orchestration, and application distribution (Docker, Kubernetes) will also be covered.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to be familiar with Windows and Linux, and have basic scripting skills

- User account and permission management for Unix file systems
- Command-line tools, process and resource configuration, definition, and monitoring
- Management of standard system services
- Bash scripting

Service management:
- Web/Apache

Containerized application management
