At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:

THE STIGMA PROBLEM TOWARDS MENTAL ILLNESS
The role of the nurse in the management of the patient undergoing mandatory medical treatment
Restraint in psychiatry: how to overcome it
The nursing interview in psychiatry, the de-escalation techniques for the management of aggression.
The management of the mental health crisis.
Organization of territorial health services;

Teaching methods

The course will be held through lectures to Students in the classroom (“in presenza”).
Lectures will be supported by slide presentations (mostly in italian, and with slides in english with information on internationally relevant papers), which will be available to students on the Elly platform(https://elly2020.medicina.unipr.it/).

Working groups will be used to improve the learning process

Assessment methods and criteria

Written examination, multiple choice tests (maximum 1 point for each answer) and open questions (maximum 3 points for each answer).
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
structured written test conducted remotely (by Teams and Elly). The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions on the course contents (reference texts + documents uploaded to Elly during the course). There is no penalty for incorrect answers.
The final mark, reported directly on Esse3, will correspond to the arithmetic average of the assessments obtained in the written test.
