Course unit content
Inside the module will be presented and analyzed the main laboratory techniques used in a Laboratory of Immunohaematology and Transfusion Medicine carried out both on the donor and on the recipient. The techniques for the preparation of blood components and blood products will also be presented. The entire transfusion path will be analyzed from the moment of donation to the transfusion in terms of quality and safety of the process and the skills and specificities required for a TLB in this specific area will be analyzed.
Full programme

- Techniques for separating the first and second level blood components and their treatments (filtration, irradiation, washing, etc.)
- Blood group and Rh factor research

Teaching methods
The teaching method used is participatory and includes moments of discussion and active reflection, therefore the course will be held both through face-to-face lectures (in the classroom), and in telepresence (synchronous-streaming) through the support of the Teams platform. In this way, the possibility of interacting in real time with the teacher both in presence and remotely will be preserved.
The lessons will take place with the aid of iconographic material collected in presentations that will be made available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly.medicina.unipr.it).
Assessment methods and criteria
Verification of learning includes an oral exam.
Through questions regarding the topics of the program, the level of achievement of the objective will be ascertained and the adequacy of the terminology, the clarity of the exposition, the capacity for reasoning and reflection will be assessed.
If, due to the persistence of the health emergency, it is necessary to adopt the remote modality for the exams, we will proceed as follows:
remote oral questions, through the Teams platform (guide http://selma.unipr.it/).
