## Teaching methods

Theoretical lessons will be completed with practical ones consisting into
the assisted solution of exercises on the treated arguments. Some
demonstration activities are planned.

## Assessment methods and criteria

There will be two infra annum tests during the course. If both of them will be passed, the students who want to take the exam in the first two sessions (January or February) will be admitted to the oral exam directly. The final judgment will be based on the outcome of the latter and on the two written tests. In some cases, if the tests have been very successful, a final vote will be offered directly to the student, exempting him from the oral exam.

Both in the final exam and in the two infra annum tests will be composed of multiple answer exercises. The correct answer, with explanation worth 1 point, the correct ones but without explanation are worth ½ points, while incorrect answers imply a ½ point penalty.
Each student has a single chance to pass the exam through the infra annum tests. The student is not necessarily required to take advantage of this opportunity during the year of the course but can do so in the following years by filling in the appropriate census form on the exam website. Written and oral examination of an appeal is a single assessment element and can not be separated (that is, written evidence of an appeal can not be valid for a subsequent appeal). In general, in cases where the committee deems it appropriate, the candidate may be exempted from the oral examination.
