Learning objectives
The course aims to deepen the knowledge of the anatomy of the oral cavity and and understanding of the pathophysiology of the stomatognathic system in order to develop in students a critical skill on the topics covered, and therefore use the knowledge and understanding of orthodontic diagnostic methods to order to optimize the setting of radiological diagnostic needs in relation to dentistry.

Anatomy of the oral cavity and pathophysiology of the stomatognathic system in relation to the specific X-rays required by dentists
Full programme
Stomatognathic system. Development of teething. Dental and orthodontic terminology. Elements of gnathology. Classification of dento-maxillo-facial disharmonies. Laboratory Tests Diagnostic Orthodontic: Orthopantomography. Cephalic lateral side. Posteroanterior cephalograms. Teleradiography Submentovertex. Occlusal radiographs. X-ray of the hand and wrist. Special pathology, dental and orthodontic (notes): dental agenesis, supernumerary teeth, dental trauma, impacted teeth.

Teaching methods
Lectures supplemented by discussion of topics in order to train students in critical skills on the topics and to provide them with knowledge of the stomatognathic useful to diagnose and solve the specific problems of professional radiographers
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, in order to ensure the quality and level of knowledge and understanding of the course content and the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to professional practice. The trial will also evaluate the quality of student participation in class.
