Learning objectives
The aim of this course is to point out the role of law and justice in shaping the peace discourse and war discourse, from both a theoretical and historical point of view.
Course unit content
The role of law and justice in theoretical discourse concerning peace and war.
Just war theory from antiquity to the present (ius ad bellum, ius in bello, ius post bellum).
The idea of peace and the concept of pacifism, in particular legal-institutional pacifism.

The exam shall deal with the issues and the texts addressed during lectures.
