Learning objectives
The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge of the terminology of medical-scientific English in order to be able to read and translate simple scientific texts, with special emphasis on the hospital environment. The course will allow biomedic laboratory techincians to acquire skills of comprehension and oral communication in the biomedical field. Such knowledge and skills can be applied for updating and professional improving.

Teaching methods
All lectures will be delivered in English and supported by visual aids and discussion in the classroom with students. Comprehension and reading exercises and dialogues will be extensively used.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final written test will deal with biomedical English, with special emphasis for the terminology of the hospital and laboratory environment.
