Learning objectives
The student, at the end of the second year of the course, must be able to relate to the patient and with his family, identify the needs that are the basis of physiological and pathological processes also of people in critical condition, meet the same predisposing an individualized care plan based on scientific evidence also in the specialties in pediatric and territorial. Must ensure the correct application of diagnostic and therapeutic work with the figures of the team care and use, where necessary, the figures support.

Course unit content
The training aims to make the student able to:
identify problems and needs of individuals who require nursing care in highly specialized;
plan, provide, evaluate nursing care aimed at healthy and sick, both in hospital and in the community, promoting positive lifestyles for health and encouraging the participation of the individual and the community in every field related to health;
help organize the total nursing care through the appropriate use of available resources, ensuring a progressive improvement of the quality of care;
interact and work closely with all members of the team, in order to plan and manage nursing interventions multidimensional;
establish a relationship of aid designed to support the person assisted in setting realistic expectations and to integrate the experience of illness in their lives;
perform properly and effectively its own activities of nursing, adapting them to be assisted in relation to the degree of autonomy / dependence, different pathologies, in different operating areas: support in respiratory and cardiac activity, in support to the need for power and hydration, in support to the need for hygienic care, in support of the need to mobilize in support of the need for elimination;
perform properly and effectively the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Teaching methods
The training activities of the third year (22 CFU) is realized in the offices of general and specialized medicine of the University Hospital of Parma, the Company Local Health Authority of Parma and at private organizations affiliated with the University of Parma.
There are three training experiences in different operating units: one in critical area (260 hours) and an area in pediatric (180 hours) and in a specialist area (180 hours), alongside a clinical tutor.
Assessment methods and criteria
You are not allowed to frequency of training if you do not have obtained the certificates of frequency of disciplinary modules: Nursing in first aid and triage; nursing and mental health nursing in pediatrics.
There has also admitted to the frequency of the training if you do not have to pass the exams: clinical surgery; medical clinic and perioperative medicine.
For each internship experience is at least one ongoing formative assessment and a final assessment certification service.
The evaluation of each training experience is made by the clinical tutor who has been entrusted with the student.
The positive evaluation of the three training experiences, allows the student to register for Internship three years in the dates of appeal provided for in the exam timetable.
The exam consists of the discussion of a clinical case.
