Integrated course unit module: RADIOLOGY UNIT EQUIPMENT

Learning objectives

Students must have basic knowledge on conventional radiology and learn the principles of physical and geometrical radiological imaging.

The production of X-rays.
Factors affecting the production of the image.
The traditional darkroom.
The X-ray equipment.
Radioscopy.
The traditional X-ray system.
Elements of digitization of the image.

Full programme

The production of X-rays: the X-ray tube, the X-ray beam; systems antidiffusion.
Factors affecting the formation of the image, the geometry of the X-ray imaging, the image receptor: intensifying screens and film. The X-ray film.
The traditional darkroom; treatment of the radiographic film.
The radiological equipment; generators of high voltage; the tables of command.
Fluoroscopy, the intensifiers, the television channel.
The X-ray equipment: the traditional stratigraphy, the panoramic radiograph.
The traditional X-ray system : table trocoscopico and trocostratigrafico, bucky, bench stand and tube wall
