Learning objectives
Specialists in Nursing and Midwifery Health Sciences function in a working context: graduates of the Master's Degree Class in Nursing and Midwifery Health Sciences will have an advanced cultural and professional training to intervene with high competence in management, educational and research care processes in one of the fields relevant to the various health professions included in the class (nursing, midwifery). Relevant professional outlets are: management in public and private healthcare facilities such as hospitals, territorial services, home care, on a salaried or freelance basis (organization/supervision of structures and provision of services with a view to efficiency and effectiveness), university teaching, continuing education, research in the area of competence. Nurse or midwife/manager in organizational-managerial function in a work context: the Master's degree holder can practise as a nurse or midwife in senior positions with managerial functions within the health services. The relevant professional outlets are: Employee or freelancer in public and private health care companies and institutions as: director/manager of care services/departments; care manager of department. Nurse or midwife/manager in care-intensive facilities function in a working context: the Master's degree graduate can practise as a nurse or midwife in senior positions with managerial functions in social-health services. The relevant professional outlets are: Employee or freelancer in public and private health care companies and institutions as director/manager of nursing-led long-term care facilities, director/manager of hospices/palliative care, director/manager of birthing (or maternity) homes or other territorial services with midwifery competence, other forms of direction and coordination of facilities and services with predominantly nursing care. Nurse or midwife responsible for and/or lecturing in didactic-educational structures function in a working context: Master's degree graduates in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences perform didactic-educational functions in their respective subject areas. Relevant professional outlets: Head of nursing or midwifery in three-year and master's degree courses in the relevant degree class; Professor in health-oriented degree courses; Professor in public and private healthcare companies and facilities; Responsible for professional training and refresher courses in public and private healthcare companies. Nursing or Midwifery Researcher function in a work context: the Master's degree graduate in Nursing and Midwifery performs research functions in the areas of competence. The relevant professional outlets are: Researcher in public and private companies, University researcher in the field of expertise, Research and consultancy for public and private companies. |
