Learning objectives
The course aims to give basic computer skills to analyse business data and to make managerial decisions.
Prerequisites
The course requires knowledge of basic Excel functions.
Basic knowledge of computer science and statistics is also recommended.
Course unit content
The course introduces Python 3.10programming language and the advanced functions of Excel 365 for data analysis (data science) and numerical calculation. The course is very operational and focused on solving typical industrial engineering problems.

Teaching methods
The course includes both a theoretical part carried out on the blackboard and a practical part carried out in teaching laboratories. The focus is on application, and the theory parts will always be explored in depth through case studies and practical exercises.

Other information
The course is divided into two modules, 6 CFU of programming and data analysis and 3 CFU of Excel. The Excel part will be carried out only in the computer classroom based on application cases.
