Learning objectives
The module of Forensic Medicine fits in the Teaching of Legal Aspects of the Manager role.
The goal is to acquaint students with the main concepts of legal and medical-legal professional activities related to nursing and midwifery, as well as provide the educational foundation useful to be able to properly manage, on the themes of the module, the usual practices, as well as to identify any critical issues, with ability to address them and correct them.

The lecture series provides basic knowledge about the medico-legal aspects of nursing and midwifery professions, evaluating, from the legal concepts of evidence and health-care through knowledge of regulatory changes on the theme of non-medical health professions, the current legislative framework of such operators, with specific interest to the legal implications inherent in the concepts of competence, autonomy and interprofessional collaboration, also in reference to the content of their codes of conduct.
It also looks after basic notions of criminal law, the main offenses relating to health, discussing, in addition to general principles, some examples, with reference to the judgments and assumptions of the doctrine of jurisprudence, previous and up to date.
From these premises are analyzed in their legal meanings-legal subjects closely related to the profession, including the issues of correct filing of health records, and self-determination of the patient's consent to treatment, the relationship between nursing staff and obstetric and other operators health, eventually coming to present and explore the complex chapters on health professional responsibility and management of clinical risk.

Teaching methods
The teaching is done with lecturing including interactive teaching (presentation of a real case), for the purpose of comparison and higher learning.
Assessment methods and criteria
The learning and the degree of preparation is checked by oral examination or written test (with multiple choice questions and answers "open"), regarding the topics covered in class. The student must demonstrate that they have acquired adequate knowledge and skills to discuss, analytically, and medical-legal issues related to the legal profession.
The examination shall be deemed passed, compared to the written test, if the student has provided no less than 70% correct answers (in multiple-choice questions), as well as a content evaluated in sufficient answers "open."
The final grade will be formulated based on the overall judgment of Teachers Teaching which owns the module in question
