Learning objectives

At the end of the course students will have acquired the necessary tools for the analysis of historical architecture and the ability to produce advanced drawings through which to communicate their design ideas in the specific field of architectural restoration.
At the end of the course the student will have a comprehensive overview of the main project and will have the theoretical assumptions of the representation of architecture.
The students will be able to identify with the variations of the themes and issues, methods and techniques of representation most appropriate to use for the communication of their work.
Since the representation is configured as a de facto one of the main forms of language for communication architecture, passing the exam, the students must necessarily have acquired the ability to communicate their ideas and projects through the design.

Course unit content

The course is aimed at students in the last year, already accustomed to using the representation as a primary tool for the description of the architecture. For this reason, in order to facilitate students in the preparation of graphics boards for a thesis in relief and reuse of historic architecture, the course is divided into a few lectures with the following topics:

- Analysis and Methods for the functional recovery of historical architecture.
- Real examples of interventions with change of functional recovery.
