Learning objectives
The educational objectives of the course are primarily aimed at providing knowledge and skills related to modern industrial automation production systems characterized by information systems and automation devices with high structure and hierarchy complexity.
More generally, the course completes the Management Engineering knowledge of technologies and production systems that use automatic machines and in fact constitutes an introduction to the discipline of systems engineering.

Business Continuity: regulatory requirements and implementation.
Introduction to mechatronics and systems engineering.
Closed loop control and data acquisition, real-time.
Communication networks for information exchange: the horizontal network across departments and the vertical network between sectors.
Process automation. Sensors and actuators.
Field automation. PLC and PMC.
Cell automation. SCADA systems.
Introduction to database and data management.
Automatic handling of materials. AGV.
The problem of integrating components from different suppliers.
The problem of data integrity.
Assessing the limits of process control in automation. The human factor.
Examples of machines in production lines: the fly-cutting machines, labeling machines, bottling machines, packaging machines for polycoupled bricks .
