Learning objectives
Aims:
To introduce students to geological and geophysical aspects of forces shaping the oceanic regions, To present plate tectonics as an unifying theory to explain the geological processes, To examine the major geological features associated with submarine environment
Prerequisites
Knowledges of Structural Geology, Tectonics, Geophysics and Stratigraphy

Introduction, Morphology of the continents and oceans, Internal structure of the Earth, Plate Tectonics, Genesis and evolution of the oceanic crust, Rifting processes, Genesis and evolution of the passive margins, Genesis and evolution of the active margins, Strike-slip motion and final remarks
