Rules of conduct in graduation sessions

We would like to remind graduates and their families to abide by specific rules of conduct to ensure the dignity and decorum of the university institution, and to avoid damage to persons and property. These rules are contained in the Rules of Conduct for candidates and their families at graduation sessions.

In particular:

  • it is absolutely forbidden to post printed matter or other material either inside or outside the building;
  • the classrooms in which the Graduation sessions are held must be vacated immediately after the candidate has been proclaimed;
  • graduation parties may not be organised in the University's premises, both indoor and outdoor. It is forbidden to set up refreshment areas, serving of food or drinks, making noises - including shouting and verbal outbursts - that may disrupt lectures.

Please note the provisions of 'Article 41 - Code of Conduct' of the current University Teaching Regulations:

  1. University staff and students must promote the orderly conduct of university activities as well as foster a civilised community.
  2. Students who obstruct the regular and proper conduct of academic activities and cause damage to the University's assets, without prejudice to the application of the criminal and administrative sanctions provided for by the regulations in force, may be subject to disciplinary proceedings, in compliance with the principle of adversarial proceedings. The sanctionable behaviour, the procedure and the applicable sanctions, as well as their enforceability, are set out in specific regulations to which reference is made.
  3. For university staff, please refer to the provisions of the code of ethics and of the collective bargaining rules governing disciplinary matters.
