Learning objectives
The use of computer software linked to data management (e.g., Excel), as well as the identification on the breeding farm of the most suitable reproducers for the improvement of specific production aspects, are aspects that may be of interest to those who, subsequently, will have to deal with the processing of the milk. The practical part of the course has precisely these purposes.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites
Course unit content
Introduction to the use of software for the genetic improvement of animals, in particular for dairy cattle.
Introduction to the use of data management software and to evaluate genetic variability.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the final exam of the course, checks on the competence in the use of the software used in the course may be requested.
In addition, a presentation of the work done on genetic parameter estimations in one population will be asked.
To the students with diagnosis of specific learning disability (DSA) certified under law n. 170/2010, proper specific support will be provided.
