Course unit structured in the following modules:

Learning objectives

The course aims to allow students to know and understand the basic tools and methodology to develop and concretely use specific concepts of the hygiene discipline and imaging techniques for the study of the ear.
In particular, the General and Applied Hygiene module aims to provide students with the tools and basic methodology to understand the concepts and areas of application of the prevention of infectious and non infectious diseases and the basics of applied epidemiology (risk factor concepts, causal relationship, types of epidemiological studies).
The Diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy aims to provide students knowledge of imaging methods for the study of the ear and their indications; CT anatomy of the middle and inner ear; introduction to pre-surgical imaging.

Prerequisites

Logical ability
Knowledge of the anatomy and pathology of the ear.

Course unit content

The course is divided into 2 modules
provides basic content on Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine and imaging methods for the study of the ear and their indications.

Teaching methods

The course will be held through lectures to Students in the classroom (“in presenza”)
Lectures will be supported by slide presentations, which will be available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly.medicina.unipr.it).

Assessment methods and criteria

The method of evaluation consists of an oral exam.
The exam will be used to verify the connection, learning and critical analysis skills acquired by the students at the end of the course.
The final grade is based on the overall assessment of the teachers of the integrated course.
