Learning objectives

CLINICAL SKILLS (The student must be able to perform, have done at least 1 time or work independently): Central venous access and peripheral. General evaluation of the surgical patient. Clinical
valuation of main organic liquids. Diagnostic-therapeutic pathway
of the breast. Instrumental diagnostics. Diagnostic and operational endoscopy. History collection of oncological surgical patient. General physical examination of the oncologic patient. Physical examination surgical oncology of the neck. Diagnostic-instrumental pathway of cancer staging (TNM). Diagnosis of pathologies of surgical interest in election. Diagnosis of urgent pathologies of surgical interest. Differential diagnosis. Preparation to surgery. Postoperative monitoring. Evaluation e wound dressing. Indication for radical or palliative surgery. Therapy indication
mini-invasive and / or instrumental. Cancer staging. Postoperative. Open surgery. Day-Surgery surgery. Laparoscopic surgery.

Course unit content

The student is supposed to attend surgical units, operating theatres and outpatient clinics, with the purpose of learning common clinical manoeuvres, of watching the most common surgical procedures, and of developing autonomy in the management of the surgical patient.

Teaching methods

Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented.

The course will be held through lectures to Students either in the classroom (“in presenza”) or in synchronous-streaming (“in telepresenza”) on the Teams platform. Therefore, the opportunity of Student/Teacher interaction will be preserved both face to face and remotely, by the simultaneous use of the Teams platform.
Lectures will be supported by slide presentations, which will be available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly.medicina.unipr.it).
